DESCRIPTION: ...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Washington... Snohomish River At Snohomish affecting Snohomish County. * WHAT...Major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Snohomish River at Snohomish. * WHEN...Until tomorrow afternoon. * IMPACTS...At 30.0 feet, the Snohomish River will flood low farm lands and several roads...including Riverview Rd and the Snohomish-Monroe highway. Hide tidal levels could worsen flooding on the lower delta and Ebey Island. Levees may be damaged. Berms start overtopping at this level. Flooding will occur all along the river including headwaters...tributaries...and other streams within and near the Snohomish River Basin. This stage on the Snohomish River corresponds to a Phase 4 in the Snohomish County flood program. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:00 AM PDT Saturday the stage was 30.7 feet. - Flood stage is 25.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 8:00 AM PDT Saturday was 30.7 feet. - Forecast...The river will fall below flood stage late tomorrow morning to 17.6 feet early Tuesday morning. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 30.4 feet on 01/17/1974. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
INSTRUCTION: Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Additional information is available at www.weather.gov. Similar to cirrocumulus clouds, altocumulus clouds are
characterized by cloud patches. They are distinguished by larger cloudlets
than cirrocumulus clouds but are still smaller than stratocumulus clouds.
Altocumulus clouds most commonly form in middle altitudes (between 2 and 5 km)
and may resemble, at times, the shape of a flying saucer.
These uncommon formations, called altocumulus lenticularis, are created by uplift
in the atmosphere and are most often seen in close proximity to mountains.

Cirrocumulus clouds form at high altitudes (usually around 5 km)
and have distinguishing characteristics displayed in a fine layer of
small cloud patches. These small cloud patches are sometimes referred to as
"cloudlets" in relation to the whole cloud formation.
Cirrocumulus clouds are formed from ice crystals and water droplets. Often, the
water droplets in the cloud freeze into ice crystals and the cloud becomes a
cirrostratus cloud. Because of this common occurrence, cirrocumulus cloud
formations generally pass rapidly.
